Virtue Lock

Unlock your apps by unlocking your kindness.

Virtue Lock is a habit-forming app that encourages you to reflect on daily acts of kindness. Record a good deed to unlock your favorite apps each evening.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Virtue Lock work?

Virtue Lock uses Apple's Screen Time API to block selected apps during your chosen hours (default: 9 PM onwards). To unlock them, simply record an act of kindness you performed that day. Once recorded, your apps are unlocked for the rest of the day.

What kind of good deeds can I record?

Anything kind or positive counts! Choose from six categories: Helped someone, Expressed gratitude, Gave something, Made someone smile, Self-care, or Other good deed. You can describe your deed via voice or text.

Is my data private?

Absolutely. All your data is stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to any of your personal information, virtue records, or app selections. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I manage my subscription?

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings: Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > Virtue Lock. Your subscription includes a 3-day free trial for new users.

Can I change the lock schedule?

Yes. Go to Settings within the App to adjust your lock schedule. You can choose "Evening only" (with a customizable start time), "All day", or set a custom time.

Can I record a virtue at any time?

Yes! You can tap "Add Virtue" on the dashboard at any time to record a good deed, even outside of your lock schedule. Recording during the day means your apps will already be unlocked when lock hours begin.

What if the app blocking isn't working?

Make sure you have granted Screen Time authorization to Virtue Lock. You can check this in your device's Settings > Screen Time. If issues persist, try restarting the App or your device.
